Friday Afternoon Bubbly: Golf Cart Coastal Edit

Some Friday afternoons just call for a little reset.

Ever since moving here in December, one of my favorite rituals has become hopping on my Barbie pink golf cart and heading over to my favorite local hotel lounge for a glass of bubbly and a little catch-up with my favorite bartenders.

When I moved to what I’ve lovingly started calling a “golf cart coastal town,” buying the pink golf cart immediately became part practical transportation, part personality trait. Around here, golf carts aren’t just for the beach — they’re how people go to dinner, grab coffee, meet friends, and wind down after work. Mine just happens to be unapologetically Barbie pink.

What started as “just stopping in” at the hotel lounge quickly turned into one of those unexpectedly comforting parts of building a new life somewhere new. The bartenders look out for me now. They remember my usual, ask how my week went, and somehow always know when I need a quiet moment at the bar.

It’s funny how places become familiar before a town fully does.

This particular afternoon still had a little chill in the air — especially once the sun started dipping and the golf cart got moving — so I leaned into a look that felt relaxed, comfortable, and a little more polished than my typical daytime coastal uniform.

This outfit is exactly the kind of combination I love most lately: easy pieces that feel elevated without trying too hard.

The hot pink sweater adds just enough personality and color to make the outfit feel intentional, while the wide-leg jeans keep everything relaxed and effortless. I love a lightweight wide-leg jean for coastal living because they move well, feel easy to wear, and somehow always make an outfit look a little more expensive.

I paired it with my Marc Jacobs Utility Snapshot crossbody in lipstick pink, which honestly might be one of my favorite statement bags for casual outfits. It’s compact, practical, and instantly makes simple denim feel styled. The Vintage Havana sneakers keep the entire look grounded and comfortable enough for wandering around town, hopping on the golf cart, or stretching a quick drink into a longer evening.

This is exactly what “Looks More Expensive” means to me in real life.

Not saving your favorite things for a special occasion.
Not overdressing.
Not chasing trends.

Just wearing pieces you genuinely love in the life you’re actually living.

And sometimes that life looks like a Friday afternoon glass of bubbly, a sunset golf cart ride home, and people who started as bartenders slowly becoming friends. -LME
