Las Vegas Hotel Must-Haves
4 Small Things That Made a Big Difference
There’s something about Las Vegas that makes you realize very quickly whether you packed well or not. Long days, late dinners, dry air, bright lights, early flights, and hotels that never really get quiet can wear you down fast if you’re not prepared.
These aren’t glamorous luxury purchases or “travel influencer” extras. They’re the small things I actually used during my Vegas trip that made the hotel experience significantly better — the kind of practical little upgrades that help you sleep better, feel more pulled together, and show up the next day looking like you have it together even if you only got five hours of sleep.
Very “Looks More Expensive” energy.
1. Sleep Mask
A true blackout sleep mask is non-negotiable for me in hotels now.
Vegas hotels glow 24/7. Hallway lights, city lights, alarm clocks, random blinking electronics — it’s never completely dark. I packed a molded sleep mask that doesn’t press directly against the eyes, and it made such a difference in the quality of my sleep.
The key is finding one that:
fully blocks light
doesn’t flatten your lashes
doesn’t create pressure on your eyes
stays comfortable all night
I use the same one at home too, which says a lot because I’m picky about sleep products.
If you’re someone who wakes up easily in hotel rooms, this is one of those tiny upgrades that instantly makes travel feel more comfortable and elevated.
This little thing earned its spot immediately.
The first night of my trip, a huge group checked into rooms nearby right as I was trying to go to sleep. Doors slamming, hallway conversations, rolling luggage at midnight — classic hotel experience.
I turned on my portable noise machine and it completely changed the atmosphere of the room. Instead of hearing every sound outside the door, the room suddenly felt calm and quiet.
I especially love compact travel versions because:
they barely take up space
they help drown out hotel noise
they make unfamiliar rooms feel more relaxing
they’re great for early bedtimes before conference mornings or flights
One of those “you don’t realize how much you need it until you travel with it” items.
This one saved me after a soy sauce incident at dinner.
Enough said.
I always keep one in my tote or carry-on because spills somehow happen more often when traveling — coffee in the airport, makeup on a collar, sauce at dinner, foundation on a white shirt… all of it.
And when you’re traveling for conferences, dinners, or events, you usually don’t have time to fully deal with laundry emergencies.
takes up almost no room
works surprisingly well
has saved multiple white shirts
belongs in every travel bag
Especially if your wardrobe revolves around crisp basics like mine does.
Vegas air is brutal on skin.
Between the dry climate, hotel air conditioning, makeup, late nights, and not drinking enough water, my skin always looks tired faster when I travel there.
An overnight hydration mask is one of my favorite travel tricks because it makes you look significantly more refreshed the next morning with almost no effort.
I love products that:
hydrate deeply without feeling greasy
calm redness
help skin look brighter by morning
layer well after a long day of makeup and sunscreen
When I have early meetings or flights, I want to wake up looking rested even if I’m not fully rested. This helps.
The Real Travel Luxury?
Honestly, it’s not overpacking.
It’s bringing a few thoughtful things that make travel smoother, calmer, and more comfortable.
That’s very much the philosophy behind Looks More Expensive: practical pieces and little upgrades that genuinely improve real life — whether that’s a perfect airport outfit, a better sleep setup, or a stain remover pen that saves your shirt before dinner.
Tiny things. Big difference. -LME
