The Fall Travel Outfit Formula I Don't Have to Think About

Every work trip used to start the same way.

I'd stand in front of my closet.

Check the weather at home.

Then check the weather where I was landing.

Then wonder how cold the airport was going to be.

By the time I actually picked an outfit...

I was already tired of making decisions.

Eventually, I realized I wasn't looking for the perfect travel outfit.

I was looking for one less thing to think about.

That's when I stopped trying to reinvent my airport outfit for every trip.

Instead, I started reaching for the same formula over and over again.

Because airport mornings don't need another decision.

The Layer I Always Start With

Every outfit starts with the same piece.

A simple black Trendy Queen long-sleeve tee.

It isn't flashy.

It isn't the part of the outfit anyone compliments.

Which is probably why I wear it so often.

It layers easily under a trench coat, works on its own after I land, and somehow makes everything else in my travel wardrobe work better.

The best basics are usually the ones you stop noticing because they're quietly doing their job.

The Leggings That Do It All
