The Serving Pieces That Make Football Sundays Easier

Every football season, I tell myself I'm going to keep things simple.

No elaborate menu.

No themed decorations.

No buying something I'll only use a few weekends a year.

And somehow...

Friends still end up gathered around the kitchen island.

Over the years, I've realized it isn't the menu that makes people stay.

It's having a setup that's easy to pull together.

Instead of buying football-specific serving pieces, I started investing in simple white pieces that work just as well for football Sundays as they do for holidays, birthdays, and casual weekends with friends.

The food changes.

The Platters That Make Everything Look Better

One of the easiest ways I've found to make a spread feel more intentional is simply using rectangular platters in different sizes.

Instead of everything sitting on the same exact platter, varying the size of the platters naturally creates movement across the island.

Cookies get one platter.

Sandwiches another.

Desserts on a third.

Nothing feels crowded, and the whole setup immediately looks more elevated without adding any extra work.

Sometimes the serving pieces do as much for the presentation as the food itself.

The Charcuterie Board That Grows With the Crowd

This charcuterie board has become one of my favorite entertaining pieces because it adapts to however many people are coming over.

If it's just a few friends, I use the smaller configuration.

If the guest list grows, I simply expand it.

For a long time, I thought entertaining meant buying something new for every occasion.

Eventually I realized I kept reaching for the exact same white serving pieces no matter what was on the menu.
