The Dresses I Reach For When It’s 90° and Humid
I am loving summer in my new coastal home.
I love being on the water. I love golf cart rides, dinners outside, and those evenings when the sun finally starts to dip below the waterfront.
What I don’t love is humidity.
By July in coastal North Carolina, there are days when it’s hot enough that the walk from the house to the golf cart feels like a workout. Those are the days that have made me pretty ruthless about what stays in my closet.
If something wrinkles immediately, sticks to me, makes me overheat, or requires constant adjusting, it doesn’t get worn.
These are the pieces I keep reaching for when it’s 90° and humid and I still want to look put together.
This is the dress I throw on when I don’t want to think about getting dressed.

Over time, I’ve stopped buying summer clothes that only work under perfect conditions.
I want pieces that can handle heat, humidity, movement, travel, and real life.
The items that survive multiple summers in my closet all tend to have a few things in common:

Enough versatility to wear repeatedly
