Real Life Reviews: Quince Cashmere

I used to think cashmere belonged in the "special occasion" category.

Beautiful.

Expensive.

A little intimidating.

The kind of sweater you wore carefully...

and worried about constantly.

Then I bought one from Quince.

Not because I expected it to change my wardrobe.

Because I wanted to see if cashmere could actually work for someone who traveled as much as I did.

It turned out...

the sweater wasn't what changed.

My idea of cashmere did.

The price made cashmere feel attainable instead of intimidating.

And because of that...

I started wearing it instead of saving it.

Today I own both the short-sleeve and long-sleeve sweaters in multiple colors.

That probably tells you everything you need to know about whether I'd buy them again.

But here's why.

I Started Reaching for Cashmere More Than Cotton

That wasn't something I expected.

The more I traveled, the more these sweaters became my default layer.

Airport mornings.

Business dinners.

Weekend coffee.

Happy hours on the water.

Instead of wondering what to pack or what to wear, I found myself automatically reaching for cashmere.

They're polished without feeling dressy.

Comfortable without looking casual.

Lightweight enough to disappear into a suitcase.

Before long, they weren't my "nice sweaters."

They were simply my sweaters.

Travel Is Where They Earned Their Place

When I first started looking at cashmere, I wasn't looking for luxury.

I was looking for functionality.

I wanted fabrics that looked elevated but actually worked for the way I travel.

One thing I didn't expect was how comfortable cashmere is in changing temperatures.

I can wear it outside on a cool morning...

Walk into a warm airport...

Sit through a chilly conference room...

And never feel like I'm constantly adding or removing layers.

That's incredibly valuable when you're traveling.

It also packs beautifully.

Unlike heavier sweaters that take over half a suitcase, these fold down surprisingly small while still giving me the warmth I actually need.

More often than not...

I'm glad I packed one.

The Sweaters Stopped Feeling Precious

This might be the biggest compliment I can give them.

Before Quince, cashmere always felt like something I needed to protect.

Something too expensive to wear often.

These changed that.

Because the price point is so much more approachable than traditional luxury cashmere, I found myself reaching for them on completely ordinary days.

To work.

For dinner on the water.

On airplanes.

To grab coffee on a Saturday morning.

Ironically...

That meant I got far more value from them than sweaters I'd spent much more money on.

Luxury only improves your wardrobe if you actually wear it.

These made me want to.

I Do Baby Them

I also think it's important to be honest about the care.

I don't treat these like a cotton T-shirt.

I wash them inside out.

They go into mesh laundry bags.

Cold water.

Delicate cycle.

Then I lay them flat to air dry.

I also don't wash them after every wear.

Unless I've spilled something on them or they simply need it, I let cashmere do what it naturally does.

For me, that routine has become second nature.

And the sweaters have rewarded it.

They've held up remarkably well.

Who I Think These Are For

I don't think these sweaters are for everyone.

I think they're perfect for someone who:

  • Is building a timeless wardrobe instead of chasing trends.

  • Travels often and wants fabrics that pack beautifully.

  • Values cost per wear more than buying something new every season.

  • Doesn't mind spending an extra few minutes caring for clothes they'll enjoy for years.

If that sounds like you...

I think you'll understand why these have become some of the hardest-working pieces in my closet.

The Best Clothes Aren't the Ones You're Afraid to Wear

They’re the ones you can’t stop reaching for.

I've realized I don't actually love these sweaters because they're cashmere.

I love them because they removed the hesitation.

I stopped saving nice sweaters for special occasions.

I started wearing them on ordinary Tuesdays.

The price made that possible.

Would I buy them again?

Without hesitation.

Not because they changed my wardrobe.

Because they changed how often I actually wore cashmere.

And to me...

That's the highest compliment I can give any piece of clothing.

Not that it impressed me the day I bought it.

That months later...

I'm still reaching for it before almost everything else. -LME

Transparency note: Quince is not an affiliate partner. I still wanted to review these sweaters because they've become some of the most-worn pieces in my wardrobe. If I recommend something on LME, it's because I'd genuinely buy it again.
