The Boat Day That Doesn't Get Cancelled: Golf Cart Coastal Edition

One of the first things I learned after moving to the coast was that locals don't cancel plans every time it drizzles.

They just wear different jackets.

Coming from somewhere that treated rain as a reason to stay inside, that took a little getting used to.

Now, I barely think twice about a forecast with a passing shower.

Around here, forecasts are more like suggestions.

The marina is quieter.

The crowds disappear.

Most of the time, the rain moves through before you've even finished your first conversation.

I've stopped waiting for perfect weather.

Wet fiberglass has a way of reminding you very quickly whether you're wearing the right shoes.

Moving to the coast changed the way I think about weather.
