Friday With Friends: Golf Cart Coastal Edition

Friends were in town last Friday, so we spent the day doing what everyone does in a small coastal town when the weather is beautiful.

We wandered.

The day started with crab benedict at brunch. After that, we headed toward the waterfront, stopped for drinks, wandered through a few shops, and generally spent the afternoon with absolutely no real agenda.

Honestly, those are usually the best days.

This was the outfit I wore for all of it.

The hot pink tank was lightweight, comfortable, and easy to wear on a warm afternoon. It was bright enough to feel fun without feeling overdone, and it paired perfectly with the rest of the outfit.

The real MVP, though, was the skirt.

One of the reasons I love this Halara skirt is that it gives you the best of both worlds. It looks like a lightweight summer skirt, but the built-in shorts underneath mean you never have to think about it. Whether you’re walking around town, climbing in and out of a golf cart, sitting outside at a waterfront restaurant, or spending hours shopping, it stays comfortable and practical.

The Clarks Breeze Sea flip flops have earned permanent status around here for the same reason. They’re comfortable enough to wear all day, which is important when a quick afternoon out somehow turns into an all-day adventure.

The Quince cashmere sweater spent most of the day riding around in the golf cart - and eventually found its way into the lobster tote. Coastal weather has a way of cooling off once the sun starts going down, and I’ve learned it’s always worth bringing a layer just in case.

Somewhere between drinks and shopping, I found this pink lobster tote by Sea Bags - a Maine brand I love and have been buying for about 12 years.

Did I need it?

Absolutely not.

Did it match my golf cart and general aesthetic?

Unfortunately, yes.

So it came home with me.

By the end of the day, we’d spent hours wandering around town, watched the tournament boats come and go from the marina, enjoyed a couple of drinks on the water, and somehow added a pink lobster tote to the collection.

Honestly, that’s about as Golf Cart Coastal as a Friday gets. -LME
