Friday Afternoon Pool Day
There’s something about a Friday afternoon at the neighborhood pool that immediately feels like summer officially started.
Work laptop closed. Golf cart keys in hand. SPF layered aggressively.
Lately, this has become one of my favorite “Golf Cart Coastal” combinations because it works long after the pool closes. I can throw the oversized pink cover-up on over my swimsuit during the afternoon, then tuck it into the Grapent tulip hem swim skirt later if we decide to grab dinner or stop somewhere along the water afterward.
That kind of versatility is exactly what I look for during summer weekends — pieces that feel comfortable first, but still look polished enough for real life.
I’ve also quietly become a huge fan of Grapent swimwear lately. Their tops and bottoms are interchangeable, which makes it easy to mix pieces together without needing an entirely new set every time. The twist-front top feels flattering without being overly complicated, and the tulip hem skirt gives a little extra coverage while still feeling lightweight and easy to move around in.
The straw hat was non-negotiable. The hat instantly makes the entire outfit feel more elevated while also being genuinely practical for pool days, golf cart rides, and waterfront walks.
And the Clarks Breeze sandals ended up being perfect for this kind of afternoon. The patent leather gives them just enough polish that they still work walking into a restaurant afterward, but they’re genuinely comfortable enough for hours outside. And my favorite “easy to use, easy to lose” Goodr sunglasses helped keep the sun out of my eyes - I love this brand because I haven’t spent a small fortune if I lose them or they get scratched.
This entire outfit ended up feeling like the kind of summer uniform I always come back to: easy, relaxed, coastal, wearable, and still put together without trying too hard.
