Where Every Friday Begins: Golf Cart Coastal Edition

Mornings start in a whole different way since I moved to my little Coastal town.

I pour a cup of coffee, open the porch door, and step outside.

More often than not, the best chair is already taken.

My dog has claimed it before I even make it outside.

I wouldn’t have it any other way.

When I first screened in my porch, I hoped it would become a place to slow down. Somewhere to enjoy the view, drink my coffee, and ease into the day before everything else began.

It quietly became my favorite room in the house.

Here are the pieces that made it that way.

Porch Favorites

Oscillating Fan

The breeze I didn’t know I needed.

Even on warm North Carolina mornings, this fan makes the porch comfortable enough to linger over a second cup of coffee. It keeps the air moving without taking over the space, and it’s one of those purchases I wish I’d made sooner.

Outdoor Rug

The finishing touch.

The rug completely changed the feel of the porch. It defined the seating area, softened the space, and made it feel like an outdoor living room instead of simply a screened patio.

Lobster Rope Mat

A little bit of Maine.

This mat sits just inside the back door leading to the porch, and it makes me smile every time I walk outside. The colors fit the space perfectly, and it’s a subtle reminder of one of my favorite coastal places.

Teal Cushions

The pop of color.

The original black cushions were perfectly fine, but these teal cushions completely changed the personality of the space. They brighten the porch, complement the view behind my house, and instantly make everything feel a little more coastal.

Wicker Chairs

Worth sitting awhile.

Comfort matters when you actually use a space every day. These chairs have become my morning coffee chair, my reading chair, and—more often than not—my dog’s favorite chair.

The Best Seat in the House

Every Friday morning, she somehow beats me outside.

She stretches out in the chair, settles in, and watches the neighborhood wake up while I stand there with my coffee, laughing because I already know I’m going to end up in the other seat.

It’s become our little Friday tradition.

No rushing.

No schedule.

Just quiet mornings, a screened porch, and a little extra time before the day begins.

As much as I love exploring Beaufort in my golf cart, I’ve realized that some of my favorite Golf Cart Coastal moments happen before I ever leave the driveway.

Funny enough…

I think that’s the best way to begin every Friday. -LME
