The Summer Work from Home Uniform
There’s a very specific point every summer where getting dressed for work becomes less about the weather outside and more about surviving the air conditioning inside.
This has quietly become the warm weather version of the outfit formula I keep repeating lately — lightweight enough for summer mornings, but still layered enough for freezing afternoons at home.
The short sleeve sweater is what makes the entire outfit feel a little more polished without feeling too heavy for this time of year. The knit is soft and lightweight with just enough structure to drape nicely without clinging, which makes it especially easy to wear during warmer months. It gives the outfit a more elevated feel than a basic t-shirt, but still feels relaxed enough to comfortably wear all day. I also love how easy it is to throw on before a meeting or Zoom call and instantly look a little more put together.
Underneath, I almost always layer one of my CRZ Yoga tanks. They’re supportive enough that I can skip wearing a “real bra” while working from home, which honestly makes long days at my desk significantly more comfortable. They smooth everything out without adding bulk, especially under lighter sweaters like this.
When it’s too hot for heavier lounge layers, the ODODOS leggings are the pair I keep reaching for. They’re soft, lightweight, and comfortable enough to sit in all day without constantly adjusting them. The pockets are also surprisingly useful during the workday when I’m carrying my phone from room to room or stepping outside for a quick walk between meetings.
And even in the middle of summer, my feet somehow still end up cold before anything else. The Ugg slippers have become part of the routine at this point — cozy enough for over-air-conditioned mornings, but still neutral and minimal enough that the outfit feels intentional instead of overly casual.
This has become one of my favorite summer work-from-home combinations lately:
lightweight layers, breathable basics, and simple pieces that still feel polished without trying too hard.
