Memorial Day by the Water
Humidity rolled into our little coastal town just in time for Memorial Day weekend, so I wanted an outfit that could handle walking around the waterfront, lingering at restaurants by the marina, and spending the afternoon outside without feeling overheated halfway through the day.
We spent hours wandering through local shops, watching boats drift in and out of the harbor, and stopping along the water to see some of the massive sportfishing boats arriving ahead of one of the biggest fishing tournaments of the season. Around here, holiday weekends always turn into an excuse to stay outside a little longer than planned.
This outfit ended up being perfect for it.
The CRZ Yoga tank kept everything lightweight and breathable, even once the humidity really settled in. And the SPANX skort was easily the best part of the outfit. The built-in shorts kept everything comfortable while walking around all day, prevented chafing in the heat, and still looked polished enough for waterfront restaurants and afternoon drinks by the marina.
I also loved that the navy and red combination felt festive for Memorial Day weekend without feeling overly themed or costume-y. It still felt clean, sporty, and elevated — which is always the balance I’m looking for with casual coastal outfits.
And honestly, the hat ended up being essential once the humidity fully took over. Coastal humidity and hair rarely cooperate, so having a polished baseball hat instantly made the whole outfit feel intentional instead of frizzy and overheated by the middle of the afternoon. The navy Black Clover hat tied the entire look together while still keeping everything casual and easy.
The Onitsuka Tigers were the perfect finishing touch for a long day on my feet. They’re lightweight, comfortable, and have that sleek low-profile shape that makes even simple outfits feel a little more pulled together.
