The First 30 Days of Building Looks More Expensive
Thirty days ago, Looks More Expensive was just an idea.
There was no content library, no Pinterest account, and no collection of posts about travel, home, style, and the little systems that make everyday life feel more elevated. There was simply an idea I couldn’t stop thinking about.
Over the past month, that idea has turned into something real.
In the first 30 days, Looks More Expensive published 39 pieces of content and generated more than 6,500 Pinterest impressions, 287 engagements, and 50 outbound clicks to the website. Readers discovered the content from 19 states and 13 countries outside the United States.
Those numbers are exciting, but they aren’t what I’m most proud of.
What I’m most proud of is the foundation that’s been built.
The airport outfit guides. The pantry reset. The coffee nook. The travel systems. Friday Afternoon Bubbly. Every post became another piece of a growing content library built around things I actually use, wear, pack, and repeat in my own life.
One thing I’ve learned quickly is that building a brand isn’t about one big moment. It’s about consistency. Showing up. Creating the next piece of content. Learning what works. Then doing it again the next day.
That’s especially true on Pinterest, where growth happens quietly. Content continues working long after it’s published, helping people discover ideas, products, and solutions through search.
LME is still very much in what I’ve started calling the Founding Era.
The audience is small. The library is young. There is plenty left to learn.
But every milestone starts somewhere.
The first subscriber.
The first click.
The first reader from another country.
The first signs that an idea might actually become something meaningful.
If you’ve been here from the beginning, thank you.
Whether you’ve clicked a pin, read a post, subscribed to The Best of The Edit, or simply followed along, you’re part of this story.
Thirty days in, we’re just getting started.
