The Airport Setup I Still Use Every Trip
I travel often enough that I’ve learned one thing: the fewer decisions I have to make on travel day, the better.
I don’t want to think about which tote I’m carrying, where my charger ended up, or whether I remembered my headphones.
I want a system.
The same carry-on. The same tote. The same airport outfit formula. The same place for everything.
Over time, that’s exactly what I’ve built.
It’s not just the suitcase.
It’s the entire setup.
The Carry-On
My Samsonite carry-on has been with me through countless airports, conferences, work trips, and vacations.
It’s lightweight, durable, easy to maneuver, and the perfect size for most trips. After years of use, it’s still the suitcase I reach for first.
The best travel gear is the gear you don’t have to think about.
This falls firmly into that category.
The Tote
My TUMI tote rides on top of the carry-on and holds everything I want access to during the flight.

Anything I might need between security and landing stays in the tote where I can grab it quickly without digging through my suitcase at the gate.

Adapters when needed.
Keeping everything in one place means I never have to hunt for a charging cord in the middle of a trip.
It’s a small thing, but it makes travel days noticeably smoother.
Why I Keep Using This Setup
The best travel systems aren’t complicated.
They’re repeatable.
Everything has a place.
Nothing gets forgotten.
Travel days feel calmer.
And when a 5 a.m. alarm goes off for an early flight, that’s exactly what I want.
I’ve tried enough bags, enough packing methods, and enough airport routines over the years to know what works for me.
